New Management Members at Fritom Group

Over the past few months, the Fritom Group has welcomed three new members to its management team. We are proud that they have chosen to join our company, and we are pleased to introduce them to you:

Peter Korpershoek – Managing Director TGN|Fritom
As of March 1, Peter Korpershoek (46) has joined TGN|Fritom in Zwolle as Managing Director. With the construction of a large and modern warehouse, TGN is entering a promising new phase. Given Peter’s extensive logistics experience, strategic vision, and expertise, we are confident that he will drive TGN|Fritom’s ambitions forward in the right direction. He takes over from Marcel Punselie, who will remain with Fritom until his upcoming retirement.

Jacques Kampers – Operational Director Sanders|Fritom
On February 1, Jacques Kampers (61) started as Operational Director at Sanders|Fritom in Uden. In this role, he oversees the entire logistics operation, including planning, cross-docking, warehousing, and drivers. With his vast experience in the logistics sector and strong focus on team development and collaboration, he is a valuable addition to the Sanders|Fritom team.

Erik Mekkes – Operational Director Oldenburger|Fritom
As of March 1, Erik Mekkes (47) has strengthened the management team at Oldenburger|Fritom as Operational Director. Erik is a familiar face within Fritom; over the past 20 years, he has held various roles within Oldenburger|Fritom, including the last seven years as Logistics Manager. In his new position, he will lead all Business Units of Oldenburger|Fritom while remaining a trusted point of contact for customer relations in warehousing. We congratulate Erik on this exciting next step in his career.

CSRD Progress: Building a Green Future Together

Over the past few months, we have made significant strides in implementing the CSRD. The recent developments surrounding the omnibus proposal within the CSRD in the European Union, have raised questions and uncertainties for many organizations. However, for Fritom, one thing remains crystal clear: we continue to commit ourselves to sustainability and green initiatives. We believe that real change is not only driven by regulations but by shared ambition, courage, and concrete actions.

We do not see the CSRD as an obligation but as an opportunity to accelerate sustainability efforts. It enables us and the industry to work even more purposefully toward a future-proof society.

For Fritom, sustainability is not a standalone project but an integral part of our Green Journey, where every step counts. In collaboration with Maisters and KPMG, we are taking a project-based approach to concretizing and implementing the CSRD. This also means taking a critical look at ourselves—reevaluating our processes, assessing our progress, and refining our strategy. It starts with redefining our green vision for the future while considering how we can achieve it together with our partners. Because building a greener future is something we do together!

AI and Order Entry

At Fritom, we place great emphasis on data quality. To ensure that all critical data is correctly entered into the system, our dedicated employees review numerous transport orders daily. This is essential for delivering our customers' goods on time and under the right conditions.

It is important work, but it requires significant time and effort. In times of labor shortages, finding the right people for this task can be challenging. At the same time, it is crucial that all data is as accurate as possible, as early as possible in the process. That’s why we are exploring whether Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support us in the order entry process.

AI can detect discrepancies and suggest improvements, enabling order entry staff to work more efficiently. Once these discrepancies are identified, we can also involve our customers in optimizing data quality. This way, we work together towards a future-proof service while keeping cost increases under control.

Fritom: Impact Partner of the UG Impact Challenge

The UG Impact Challenge is an initiative of the University of Groningen that inspires students to develop solutions for societal challenges. It provides a platform for transforming innovative ideas into impactful business plans.

For students, this is a great opportunity to develop essential skills such as innovative thinking, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial mindset. For Fritom, as an impact partner, it is a valuable chance to connect with these talented students and support them in achieving their goals. In the second half of the program (Sept – Dec 2025), students will tackle an innovative challenge provided by Fritom.

On Tuesday, March 4, Willem Doorenbos and Benny Gommers represented Fritom at the speed dating event. They engaged with students to assess their innovations based on aspects such as societal impact and viability.

Currently, students are working towards the "Grande Finale" in early May, where the best ideas will compete for an audience and/or jury award.
